- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆In August 1999 I adopted a Beagle/Boarder Collie mix that I named Toby. Tabitha Lantz was the volunteer who helped me that day. Toby and I bonded like I had never before experienced. He and I spent many hours together in the woods exploring. Toby used to accompany me to see my family in Northern Virginia. Eventually, Toby and I moved back to Virginia. He lived for many years and finally died at about the age of 15. I have other rescue dogs now, but I still miss Toby.
